After a long silence, an an unbelievable number of visitors, I have at last come across the correct details of Lt Jonathan Layton's burial – as follows:

Bishop’s Transcript (Ancestry): Jonathan Layton, Frederic St, aged 53, was buried 6 July 1836 at St Giles in the Fields (The Poets’ Church), Camden., Middlesex.

Cheers to other survivors of this fading forum...
